Launch of the new IPA 5 project in Albania

The EMCDDA’s International cooperation sector co-organised a meeting in Tirana in order to exchange knowledge and practices between Albania and the EMCDDA on monitoring the drug phenomenon and identify potential areas for further cooperation. Albania produced a national report on the drug situation in the country in 2014 and plans to update it within the next year. In the meantime, the Albania working group will work on an updated Country overview to be made available on the EMCDDA website by the end of 2016. During the December visit, the EMCDDA met with representatives of the drug data collection, analysis and reporting entities within the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of the Interior and other relevant services working in the drugs field. A list of possible further activities to be co-organised was also drafted.
